After decades of work by all Civil Rights organizations to get this holiday, we get this?
Do you mean to tell me that even with every black person in America fighting daily for fifty years for a national Juneteenth holiday, they do this?
Look, there was NOTHING more important to black folks than this oh-so-important day...and Ikea couldn't put our favorite beverage, Colt 45 malt liquor, on the menu?
Come on, Ikea, get it right! We negroes need to wash down all of this goodness with a 40oz or let us swallow some delicious belly wash like Red or Grape Kool-Aid!
Can somebody help them with their spelling? I think I'm more offended by that "e" in potato.
A menu that the manager of an Ikea store in Atlanta says was meant to honor Juneteenth instead angered Black employees who called it insensitive. Many didn't show up for work on Saturday – Juneteenth – and some even thought about quitting.
The manager is apologizing.
Employees who requested anonymity due to fear of repercussions showed CBS Atlanta affiliate WGCL-TV an email sent Friday that said the special menu for customers and employees was one way to "honor the perseverance of Black Americans and acknowledge the progress yet to be made."
Really hard to imagine someone thought this was a good idea.
