I'm wondering why they keep offering boosters of the same vaccine, designed for the original variant. Why aren't they designing new vaccines for Omicron or up-and-coming variants, as they do for the annual flu shots?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the allure of the MNRA vaccines was the fact they could be tweaked?

You nailed it...
I think it is because it will cost them money to modify...pure and simple - the suggestion for additional boosters sounds also like they just need a new influx in revenue. They haven't provided any studies to suggest that the boosters provide more protection. They still don't stop the virus, just supposedly reduce symptoms.
