According to all observable metrics, the promised “cures” and “mitigation” and “suppression” strategies are not working as advertised. Most of these “tools,” when employed, are making everything worse. Mass asymptomatic testing has only prolonged this pandemic of stupidity. It’s total mass hysteria.
The overwhelming majority of people who are testing positive are not deathly ill. They have symptoms of the common cold. Omicron is not the deadly threat we’ve seen promoted by the media. It’s been well over a month into this faux panic, and not one human being has died from this variant.
In South Africa, the hospitalization rate has plunged.
Can we point out some good news for a change?
South Africa delivered some positive news on the omicron coronavirus variant on Friday, reporting a much lower rate of hospital admissions and signs that the wave of infections may be peaking.
Only 1.7% of identified Covid-19 cases were admitted to hospital in the second week of infections in the fourth wave, compared with 19% in the same week of the third delta-driven wave, South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla said at a press conference.
Health officials presented evidence that the strain may be milder, and that infections may already be peaking in the country’s most populous province, Gauteng.
