Major Media Outlets Have Been Forced Out Of Their Sandbox And Recess Is Over.
There is a jaded, skeptical audience who is sick of having 'wolf' cried at them day and night by careerist yuppies scrolling Twitter feeds and calling it 'reporting.'
For twenty years or more, mainstream 'journalism' has been flippant, ignorant, and reckless. The media has acquired the unprofessional and discrediting habit of placing itself in the center of every story and promoting partisan interests above objective fact. A whole generation of pseudo-journalists has arisen in the 'smart phone' era for whom total lack of impulse control, with immediate posting capability, has resulted in a gullible and thoroughly untrustworthy press corps.
This Russian war story is WAY too big, too rapid-changing, and too crucial for any more of this childish and shameful behavior to continue. Right away, I have begun detecting a tone out of news outlets since the war began, that they no longer have the idle luxury of squandering credibility with their audiences by reciting continual partisan bombast. Now it is time for major media to reclaim their role, which was always meant to report facts.
History has finally caught up to the Century of Stupid. The past twenty-two years have shown the human race as capable of great folly, caprice, and lack of self-restraint in the most idiotic ways--coupled with the longstanding, inexcusable outright waste of resources the middle-class, credit-mired standard of living now requires.
Until a few days ago, I was thoroughly convinced no one in the press had the slightest concern over factual credibility. They had better things to do, like advancing their fortunes by climbing onto idiotic trending bandwagons and social and political fads like 'covid,' for instance. Which, it turns out, has been cured.
All we needed was a REAL story for these people to try and keep up with.
